DIRECTIONS TO THE PLAICE, 3, HARBOUR RD,
SEAHOUSES, NORTHUMBERLAND, NE68 7RN

Travelling north on the Al, passing the towns of Morpeth and Alnwick, take the NEXT right turn off the motorway, AFTER the B6347 signposted to Christon Bank, Seahouses and Doxford Country Store. It is signposted to Preston Tower, Ellingham and Chathill.

Travelling South on the A1, passing Berwick and the exits for Bamburgh, Belford and Elford, take the exit left signposted to Preston Tower, Chathill and Ellingham.

Continue along this country road towards the coastline until a T-junction is reached. Turn left here, it is signposted to Seahouses and Beadnell. Continue through Chathill, over the railway crossing and into the hamlet of Swinhoe. Take care on this road as there are a few sharp bends and the road is quite narrow in parts.

Slowly, drive through Swinhoe, passing our other cottages, Nook End and Driftwood, on the left hand side, set back from the road. Continue along this road in the direction of Beadnell and Seahouses. Passing the signposts to Beadnell village, continue along the coast, with the sea on your right hand side, into Seahouses.
You will pass the golf club on your right hand side and a new housing development also on your right. Pass the JET petrol station on the left and at the small roundabout, turn right along Main St. This is the main shopping street in the village. Follow the road round to the left as if heading towards Bamburgh but then take the right hand turn opposite the crazy golf course, (new apartments being built on the right hand side corner) and head downhill towards the harbour. Bear right along the harbour road and you will find The Plaice on the right hand side of the road, almost next to the small harbour masters office. This is Harbour Rd. The Plaice, number 3, is on the right hand side of the road, overlooking the sea and the boat slip way. There is space for parking 2 cars directly in front of The Plaice. This is un adopted roadside and all the residents park on this strip in front of their properties, despite the yellow lines on the road.

We provide a parking permit for guests who may prefer to park in the local village car park.

The little black key safe box can be found on the wall to the left hand side of the front door. If you are arriving at night, please bring a torch with you! Remove the black weatherproof cover and enter the digits you have been given and you will find the key inside. Replace the cover of the key safe by entering again the digits. Replace the black weatherproof cover.
