Moo House is a recently renovated stone barn conversion at Tughall Steads, a hamlet situated on an organic coastal farm, only 5 minutes drive from the beaches of Beadnell and Newton-by-the-Sea. It is aptly named, as the building was formerly a cow byre! Often booked with one or two or all of our other 7 cottages at Tughall. Moo House receives lots of bookings and is a popular choice for large family groups and house parties! Moo House sleeps 10/12 plus several cots, with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms (two beds and shower rooms on the ground floor offering good accommodation for those not wishing to use the stairs), and plenty of parking spaces. The house is light, bright, airy and furnished and presented to an exceptionally high standard. A 5 star GOLD grade was awarded to Moo House for 2011. With large lounge and spacious kitchen/diner, floor to ceiling windows, log burner, comfy sofas, 32" television, CD player, king size beds, courtyard garden with table and chairs, and walled garden with BBQ equipment, we've got it covered for the perfect break!

The Cow Shed

Exclusively available to residents of Moo House, there is the opportunity to use the newly renovated Cow Shed, which adjoins the garden of Moo House - a perfect games room/ chill out zone....complete with full size pool table and table football/air hockey, sofas, music and books. Detached from the main house, guests can use the Cow Shed as a games room, garden room or somewhere to escape to for a bit of quiet TV watching or book reading. There is a TV/DVD/CD player with a great selection of CDs and DVDs to satisfy everyone's tastes!

Floor Plans

Please note that we have recently added a 'day bed' to Bedroom 1 to enable it to sleep a third person. we have also added a day bed in Bedroom 4 for the same reason. These extra beds can be made up on request with prior notice for a small charge
There is also now a patio door from the kitchen onto a patio and fenced lawned area.

Children at Moo House

Moo House qualifies for our highest 5 starfish rating in terms of child-friendliness with its 2 gardens, swings and outdoor toys, books and dressing up box and, of course, The Cow Shed Games Room where children will happily play for hours! Please note that we provide a wide selection of toys/games in the house and the Cow Shed which we try to keep in as good a condition as possible but we are dependant on guests taking care with them. If guests break or damage things then future guests may find them unavailable for use.

Coastal Retreats Candid Comments (Giving you the only down sides we can think of about a property before you book!)

The Cow shed games room is superb and ideal for summer use. It has wall mounted electric radiators but not full central heating, so in the winter, you need to put the heaters on for about half an hour before use. It's not attached to the house so if its raining, you will get wet running the 10 paces from the back door of the house to the games room. The play garden, with swings etc, is also 10 paces from the back door so you may want to keep your toddlers in the small garden off the kitchen if you want to watch them while preparing dinner!

'Once again we thank you for our "extended family" holiday in Moo House. This is the second time we have hired Moo House and our third rental with you ( we had the Look Out in 2010)

Everything was first class as usual -a real home from home. We loved the changes you have made to the kitchen and the bathroom in the main bedroom. Our German grandchildren like to call it their second home!

The four grandchildren, English (5 and 2yrs) and German (16 and 13yrs) loved the cow barn which was well used after long walks on the beautiful beaches! Two of the party used the bikes to cycle in to Beadnell each day for the Telegraph. We had coffee/late breakfast around the seating area in front of the kitchen and adults and children enjoyed the swings and trampoline! We were so lucky that we had wonderful weather and could return to such a comfortable and well equipped property after the days activities. Your company really deserves the accolades that you have received from North east tourism. An example of your company's attention to detail- we were short of two towels for the children but we had a quick response to our call and towels arrived pronto!

I should mention that we had Fiona Burn to cater for us on the last evening. This was a great success- wonderful food, good portions, friendly helpful service, coffee served in the lounge and the kitchen left clean and tidy. We can thoroughly recommend her'
