Location and Locality
Tughall Steads is a quiet farm hamlet made up of converted farm buildings. With a rural aspect, it is still only minutes from the sea between Beadnell and Newton by the Sea

For a plan of Tughall Steads and to see how The Granary lies in relation to our other properties in this hamlet click here

If you happen to look at Tughall Steads on google earth, please don't be disheartened by the image. It dates back to March 2007 when the building works were still being carried out with all sorts of materials and farm machinery strewn about!  It bears no resemblance to the current site. What's more, the apparent 'airstrip' shown nearby was last used in 1948.

Coastal Retreats Candid Comments (Giving you the only down sides we can think of about a property before you book!)
The garden although large, enclosed and with childrens play equipment, is quite plain and not professionally landscaped like some. There is a large fridge freezer in the kitchen but no second fridge at the moment

'The weekend was wonderful, truly brilliant.  Everyone said they would love to come back up with families and enjoy a longer break so I'm sure you will get some more bookings!I could have stayed a lot longer. It was so relaxing.  Thank you for all your help and for suggesting the Ocean Club and the Seafield restaurant  - this all helped make the weekend perfect.'.... Karlie Peters

'Just wanted to drop you a quick e-mail to say how much my family enjoyed staying in The Granary the other week. We couldn’t believe how much there was in the cottage for the children to do, during what little poor weather we had'. Jonathan Horrocks

'Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks for just the best holiday.  We had such a great time at the Granary - you have truly thought of everything and we have been raving about how great a concept you've created since our return!  We're jealous as we would love such a great business.  The kids had a ball - the fancy dress gear kept them amused for hours.  From the moment they woke (normally too early as so excited!) to the moment they went to bed they were into everything, playing with all the fab toys.  We were super lucky with the weather and made the most of all the stunning beaches and BBQ..Alison Groves joined us for a photo shoot and we look forward to seeing those shots!

'We stupidly forgot to sign your visitor book but just wanted to pass on our thanks, as all the little touches made for a very memorable and fun holiday.  We'd love to return..even the 6 hour journey home to Hertford hasn't put us off!'

' One of the best holidays we've ever had. Northumberland is stunning. The Granary even more stunning'

' Well worth the 300 mile journey for a 3 day holdiay!! Next time we'll come for a fortnight as we only stratched the surface of Northumberland and found there was loads still to do'

' Thanks to Coastal Retreats for organising everything for us - the dinner party with Wilkins, the champagne on arrival, the table at the Alnwick Treehouse, the taxis, the pamper packages for us all and even the weather!'
