Holiday retreats with a touch of artistic licence
Northumberland Coastal Retreats has given its collection of luxury 5 star holiday properties a further dimension – giving its discerning holidaymakers the opportunity to enjoy a host of original local artwork whilst relaxing in the unique accommodation, the interiors of which have been personally designed by proprietor Fiona Mckeith and architect partner Roger Copestake.
“Some holiday cottages give self-catering a bad name and can make holiday makers wish they’d stayed at home!.” comments Fiona. “Many properties lack the quality, home comforts and attention to detail which can make all the difference to a discerning holidaymaker. At Northumberland Coastal Retreats, we’ve endeavoured to make our cottages somewhere people cannot fail to relax. Like our guests, we love to be surrounded by stimulating and interesting things. Consequently, in our holiday properties original pieces of art from many of our favourite local artists have been chosen to complement the colour schemes and furnishings and give a taste of what Northumberland has to offer for tourists to the area
The artwork reflects both Fiona’s personal taste and the beauty of the Northumberland countryside and culture through the eyes of renowned local artists such as Mick Oxley, Alan Smith Page, Ben Haslam and Bill Hindmarsh.
The paintings serve to bring the local area to life for those who may be first time visitors.
