What's Included?
Our prices are fully inclusive, so you won't be asked to take any meter readings or to bring your own sheets! As five star homes, our prices include everything. On top of this, you'll find the cottages to be exceptionally well equipped, so you won't have to bring the kitchen sink!
- The prices include all fuel including logs for the fire (if your cottage has a log burner), bed linen and duvets, towels (except beach towels), lovely designer toiletries, complimentary copy of 'Living North' magazine and a decent bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. You are also invited as our guests, to use the facilities at the new private
Ocean Club
in Seahouses.
At a specially reduced rate (£6 per adult, £3 per child, babies under 2 years receive free admission and there is free parking) you can use the pool, children's pool, gym, sauna, hot tub and café at any time of day. If you are staying at our new apartments @ The Viking, then you can use the Ocean Club FREE OF CHARGE! Ideal as a wet weather retreat or as a place to chill out after a day on the beach! As Coastal Retreats guests you will also be entitled to specially negotiated beauty treatment packages - superb deals at very reasonable prices. Please note FREE access to all of our guests staying at our Viking apartments in Seahouses - You will find a starter supply of items such as loo roll, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, cling film, tin foil, firelighters, matches, bin bags and washing up liquid. Please note we provide starter supplies of items. We don't offer serviced accomodation so you will need to bring some loo rolls etc. for the rest of your holiday
- You will also find a small supply of teabags, coffee, sugar and a pint of mik for your arrival.
You may wish to bring extra supplies with you or add them to your supermarket delivery order.
Some of our properties are owned by Coastal Retreats and others are owned by some of our friends and clients. They have all been handpicked to join the collection as we felt confident that they meet our high Coastal Retreats standards. They are all well equipped, beautifully furnished, lovingly presented and well maintained. They feature the following and in addition some may have a few extras or items particularly suited to that particular property.
What you will find in our cottages:
- Winter and summer tog duvets (mainly non-allergenic but varies from cottage to cottage). All beds fully made up with pillows, duvets and co-ordinated cotton linen
- Full oil central heating or electric heating (Coastguards Cottage, Harbour Master's House and Budle Bay Loft have some night storage heating along with electric wall mounted heaters/underfloor heating
- Double glazing
- Wood-burning stoves in some (except our Penthouse which has a contemporary electric pebble fire instead. The Hemmel has an effective gas 'log burner' in a hand built fireplace. At The Plaice, The Look Out and the Beadnell Beach House, the focal point is the fabulous sea view!). The Coastal Retreats@The Viking apartments, Bamburgh Six, Sailors Snug and Beach38 don't have fires.
- Oven and hob (double ovens with electric hobs in most. Aga at the Croft, range cookers at Moo House, Seascape, Coastguard's Cottage, Beach38 and The Plaice).
- Dishwasher/microwave/fridge/freezer*/washer/dryers (Please note The Studio and the Well House have no dryers)
- Coffee machines and/or cafetiere.
- Some have juicers, bread makers, popcorn makers, blenders, sandwich makers.
- Toaster
- Cannisters of tea, coffee and sugar to get you started.
- 2 colour televisions with DVD players - all have a digital boxes or freeview
- CD player and a small selection of CDs.
- Hairdryer
- Soaps, bubbles and shampoos.
- Parents' 'peace of mind' kit (cot, high chair, toy box, night light and emergency nappies).
- Small selection of DVDs and games.
- Iron and ironing board.
- Payphone or phone with a honesty box or in the case of our apartments @ The Viking, we leave you a Pay as You Go mobile phone.
- Emergency baskets (full of little items that you may have forgotten to pack!).
- Sewing kit.
- Selection of interesting coffee table books, current magazines and publications.
- Especially for foodies and gourmet cooks, in the kitchen there will be recipe books, cannisters of tea/coffee/sugar, a good selection of kitchen and table ware, napkins and all types of glasses from champagne to sherry. A good selection of equipment ranging from milk frothers and garlic presses, wine stoppers and kitchen scales.
- For picnic and barbeque lovers, there are flasks, picnic baskets, plastic dishes, kebab skewers. Most have an ice box for picnics
- Collection of maps and local information on where to eat, places to visit, things to do and see.
- Suggestion book for guests to complete, to help future guests make holiday plans.
