A studio-style layout with a separate bathroom means that when the log burner is lit you can have the benefit of its warm glow whether you are cooking, eating, relaxing or sleeping. The Fold @ Rock

Guests can’t get enough of the view of the coast from the garden of this country-style house near Alnwick for eight. It certainly is the perfect place to soak up some peace and quiet, while your dog enjoys racing around the large lawned area. Surrounded by farmland, there are numerous walks and trails from The Fold, including to a pub 20 minutes away. Sleeps 8

Number Nine is a former iron worker’s cottage which has been transformed by its owners with a flawless, high-end interior and professionally landscaped garden. In walking distance of the County Durham village of Lanchester, it has rolling countryside views and numerous walks and cycle routes from its door. The heritage sites of Durham city are also 15 minutes away by car. Sleeps 4


Moo House

Moo House has more than enough to keep you entertained. It has fantastic socialising spaces in both the kitchen and the lounge with its log burning fire. There’e also a separate chill out zone – The Cow Shed – with a pool table, table football and air hockey – and a play garden to the rear with swings and a football goal. Located at Tughall Steads between Newton and Beadnell, it is ideal for two families holidaying together. Sleeps 12
