The Arch is the kind of Retreat you’ll want to return to time and time again. Not only is it snuggled in the picturesque fishing village of Craster, within walking distance of the gastro pub, harbour and the sea, but from the skylights of its master bedroom the views of Dunstanburgh Castle on the headland and the Craster shoreline will make you stop in your tracks.
It’s this vision of the romantic ruins of Dunstanburgh that is the ‘magic ingredient’ that draws people back to this other worldly place – that, coupled with its carefully crafted interior and location, hidden behind the village smokery, famous for its Craster kippers, brands this as a truly special property.
Dating back to the 18th Century, The Arch embraces its history with exposed beams and an original open fireplace in a cast iron surround. The interior scheme blends calming whites, cool shades of blue and bleached floorboards for a true coastal chic feel.
The kitchen is hand painted with a Belfast sink and granite worktops within the open plan living and dining area. Patio doors open out from the lounge onto the courtyard garden, where you’ll also find a useful outbuilding for bike storage.
Sleeping four across two bedrooms, The Arch is one of our Gold Retreats and is available to book now for holidays from June 15, 2018.
