A minute’s walk from the sea and close to the restaurants and shops of this buzzing fishing village, this cottage offers something for everyone. It is close to the golf course and within a couple of minutes walk of the harbour and the boats sailing to the Farne Islands.
It makes a lovely base for a holiday with a slightly more traditional feel to its interior than some of our other cottages in the collection.  Its owners, who work in the Arts, have selected some of their favourite artworks for the walls, and a guitar and accordian are there for those of a musical bent. The hallmark Coastal Retreats attention to detail and styling is apparent in the light open-plan ground floor living accommodation with wood-burning stove.

Bedrooms have views over the rooftops and caravans towards the sea, rocks and harbour of Seahouses which are a two minute walk away- all in all an excellent family holiday location and a great place to return to after a day on the beach!

Externally there is parking for one car in the small courtyard to the rear of the property and a very small area with a garden seat for enjoying the morning sun and watching a bit of quiet village life, to the front of the house, with a few passers by.

Families with older children and teenage children. Small groups. Sleeping 7,  Seafarer’s is also ideal for two families sharing together. Ideal for children who want to be able to explore beach, harbour, shops, crazy golf on their own. The Seafarer’s has also had its fair share of girls groups who enjoy being able to walk to the Ocean Club for pamper days and walk to the Olde Ship Hotel for homemade bar meals and a decent glass of wine

Children at Seafarer’s***

With no private outdoor space, Seafarer’s is less suitable for toddlers but older children will love being so close to the beach and all that Seahouses has to offer. Travel cot (please bring your own cot linen) and high chair available on request

Electric heating plus underfloor heating downstairs and a logburner in the lounge.

Please note: Whilst we take great care to represent our properties and their facilities as accurately as possible, the décor, furnishings and facilities shown in images and video tours may occasionally be subject to minor change.

Candid Comments

Allocated parking for one car (on street parking for additional vehicles). No garden or patio, but there is a bench outside the front door to sit and watch the world go by.

A caravan park is within sight of the front door so may not be to everyone’s cup of tea, but you are central for all the other ameneties. The decor is more friendly and homely than plush and designer.

Mobile reception is almost impossible at the Seafarer’s and in Seahouses in general.

Guest Reviews

This has been a really lovely holiday, depsite the weather. It was so nice coming off the boat and walking two minutes up the hill to a warm and cosy cottage. We lit the log burner every night and sat round the table drinking wine and playing scrabble...marvellous, thank you

Being next to Swallow Fish has meant we have eaten beautiful fresh fish all week long

This is our third holiday here for our family of three generations. It suits all of us

This is a perfect cottage for us. We love being so close to everything and really enjoyed having our friends staying round the corner at The Plaice. It's been a super way to celebrate my 40th birthday, thanks to Coastal Retreats for suggesting this to us

The cottage was lovely and clean with lots of lovely touches such as the interesting art work

Warm and cosy and we loved the treats you left us. Thank you so much

A great cottage, reasonably priced and superb value for money for our family of 7. You have some great cottages and we had great fun going round Seahouses and Craster, spotting the Coastal Retreats. We liked the fact that we could just walk out to the village and really enjoyed the Olde Ship Hotel. We felt like locals by the end of the holiday
