Both the open plan living area and the master bedroom open out onto glass balconies from where you can dine al fresco or watch the harbour activity. The Plaice received a commendation for a Design Award from Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty who said: “This is a wonderful example of how to sensitively redevelop a terraced house within a conservation area. The result is a building which fits perfectly with its surroundings and sets a standard for others to follow. It is especially pleasing to see the use of good quality traditional materials and simple contemporary design. This must be a great place to stay.”
*Please note up until October 2019, the pier will be closed at Seahouses due to harbour remedial works but the boats will still be operating to The Farne Islands. There will be an increase in activity and traffic around the harbour, but guests will be provided with a free parking pass for the main Seahouses car park in case parking is difficult.

Located by Seahouses harbour, The Plaice is within walking distance of the Farne Island boat trips departure points, the village shops and restaurants, the beach and the Ocean Leisure Club where guests have membership during their stay (small entry fee applies). For sporting activities, the stunning cliff top Seahouses Golf Club is close by and surfing and stand-up paddleboarding can be arranged on Seahouses beach, as well as horse riding. Arrival and Departure
Arrival: 4pm (3pm from Nov-March)
Families with older children or babies, couples and small groups. Ideal for sea lovers, walkers, bird watchers and those wanting a luxury seaside holiday base where many of the main attractions are within walking distance.
Children are welcome but there are no special facilities or private outdoor space so it is more suited to older children. A travel cot (please bring your own cot linen) and high chair are available on request.
Electric wet central heating system and underfloor heating in bathrooms.

A compact but cleverly designed property. At full capacity for six guests, the living space could feel a little cramped but there are enough dining chairs and seating for six.
No log fire or garden but the harbour and sea views from the balconies make up for that.
The parking is unmarked to the front of the property and accommodates one car.
Please note that harbour remedial works until October 2019 means there is the possibility of an increase in traffic around the house during this time and more noise and activity during working hours.
Just returned from a superb week in the best self-catering holiday cottage we have ever stayed at. Beautiful coast and a wonderful setting, and you have appointed the cottage perfectly. If only more holiday residences could be of this high standard then holidaying in our own beautiful country would become much more attractive than the mission to go abroad. You have set the gold standard.
Thank you so much. We had such a wonderful time at The Plaice. The cottage was so lovely and everything was perfect. The only problem was that we weren't there long enough! There is so much to see and do!
To have a real ale pub and a stunning sea view on our doorstep made our holiday perfect. Loved everything about this cottage and the village of Seahouses. It was our first visit to the region and we will go home and tell everyone all about this neck of the woods. The people are so friendly and the landscape and scenery stunning.
We appreciated the quality of the accommodation at The Plaice, the interior design and the proximity to the seafront.

We even managed to get the girls to walk the 10 miles from Craster to Seahouses, in between several sessions of surfing with Jon @ Northside.
We may very well return again next year as the girls are already making plans.
