The more energetic can head 4 miles from the property to Beadnell Bay beach and spend the day kayaking, windsurfing, or wakeboarding. If you have children in tow, why not head 11 miles to the fabulous Alnwick Castle – the backdrop for some of the Harry Potter films – where you can discover the medieval alchemist, have a go at some archery or learn to fly a broomstick.

Originally a cow byre, the interior of this beautiful stone barn conversion has plenty of charm and character. Distributed over one level, rooms are spacious and light. Reviews

We had an absolutely amazing time staying at The Croft. It was perfect for two families and our dogs. The kids loved the games room and the dogs loved the huge garden! It was the perfect base for exploring more of Northumberland. We will definitely come back!

Mr S,

A rural retreat in a quiet location with views to Bamburgh Castle in the north and to Beadnell Bay in the east. We saw some the local wildlife from the kitchen window, including a barn owl, a weasel, hares and deer.

Mr C,

This was a great place to stay Hope we can come again soon Unfortunately health problems meant we had to leave earlier than plans

Mr H,

We loved our time at the Croft and looking to return next year

Mr O,

Lovely cottage Huge garden. Family enjoyed the small games room Great parking. Easy short drive to many local dog friendly beaches Loved seeing the barn owl every evening It was fun guessing the daily location of the mole hills on the lawn!! Would definitely return.

Mrs C,

Wonderful cottage. High spec and all on flat for me as wheelchair user. We all had a fab time.

Mrs M,

We stayed at The Croft when our granddaughter was 1+. Back now she's 16! As wonderful as ever!

Mrs A,

The welcome pack was a very nice thought. The Croft was everything we expected and more. Hares and deer seen in the field to the rear. Really enjoyed our stay.

Mr C,

Location

The hamlet of Tughall Steads is a collection of converted stone farm buildings and is mainly holiday homes. The houses are surrounded by open countryside and a five minute drive will take you to the beach at either Beadnell or Newton by the Sea. It is ideally situated for access to Bamburgh to the north and Craster to the south. If you happen to look at Tughall Steads on Google Earth, please note that the apparent 'airstrip' shown nearby was last used in 1948!
